EduComply

About EduComply

Compliance that manages itself.

We started EduComply because we believe school estates teams have better things to do than administer compliance. This is where that idea came from, who is behind it, and where we are today.

Our story

Why we built it

EduComply started with a problem Daniel Parker, one of our founders, knew first-hand.

Working in school estates, Daniel saw how much of compliance still depended on people: checking spreadsheets, watching renewal dates, finding certificates, chasing contractors, updating records, and remembering what needed to happen next, for every school, every regime and every contractor.

Even where software existed, somebody still had to make sure the process actually happened. The system held the information. A person did the work.

And that work never stops. Certificates expire on their own cycles, contractors need booking and chasing, and every new report has to be read, understood and filed against the right requirement. Across a trust it becomes a constant background load, and the assurance at the end of it depends on nobody missing anything. When someone is away, busy or moves on, much of what they were keeping track of goes with them.

Most of that work follows rules. A certificate has an expiry date. A report belongs to a known requirement. A contractor who has not sent the paperwork after a visit needs a reminder. None of that needs a person's judgement. It needs doing, reliably, every time, for every school.

Why should estates teams spend their time and expertise keeping the paperwork moving, when software could carry that load for them?

That question became the idea behind EduComply, and the principle behind everything we build: compliance that manages itself. The software carries the routine work of watching, organising, chasing, reading and recording, so estates teams can focus on the decisions that genuinely need them.

We are not trying to make estates teams better administrators of compliance. We want to give them less compliance administration to do, so their time goes on the schools themselves, with a clear view of where every one of them stands.

What EduComply does

Specialist school estates compliance software that takes on the routine work

EduComply is built for UK schools and multi-academy trusts. It runs the routine compliance lifecycle, and brings people in when it needs their judgement or authority.

  • Keeps watch on what is due

Every statutory requirement carries its own renewal cycle, so you can see what is coming up well before it lapses.

  • Organises renewals with contractors

EduComply prepares the renewal. Once you approve the request, the contractor books a visit through a secure link, choosing from the times your school has made available. They do not need an account.

  • Chases what has not arrived

Contractors are reminded, and certificates are chased after the visit. If a contractor still does not respond, EduComply lets you know.

  • Deals with incoming evidence

Certificates and reports forwarded by email or uploaded are identified, read and applied to the right requirement. Only the ones it is unsure about come to you.

  • Keeps the record current

Compliance status comes from valid evidence, so it stays up to date for every school, every regime and the whole trust.

  • Follows work through

Findings become actions with an owner, a due date and the evidence attached. Overdue work and missed checks are escalated.

People are asked only for what needs a person: a decision, an approval, or something only they know.

The difference

Most compliance software helps you manage the process. We want more of the process to disappear.

  • Without EduComplySomeone checks a spreadsheet for renewal dates.

With EduComplyEduComply watches every renewal date and starts the next renewal in good time.

  • Without EduComplySomeone phones and emails contractors to book visits.

With EduComplyYou approve the request, and the contractor books a time your school has made available.

  • Without EduComplySomeone chases the certificate after the visit.

With EduComplyEduComply chases it, and tells you only if the contractor does not respond.

  • Without EduComplySomeone opens, reads and files every certificate.

With EduComplyEduComply reads it and applies it to the right requirement. You see only the ones it is unsure about.

  • Without EduComplySomeone updates the tracker and hopes it is current.

With EduComplyCompliance status updates from the evidence itself.

  • Without EduComplyThe estates lead keeps track of everything through sheer personal effort.

With EduComplyThe estates lead sees what needs attention, and where every school stands.

What that gives an estates team:

  • Less complexity
  • Less administration
  • Greater assurance
  • More time to improve your schools

Who it is for

EduComply is built first for Heads and Directors of Estates, and the compliance and operations leaders in multi-academy trusts: the people accountable for compliance across many schools, who cannot personally check every certificate, renewal and contractor.

It is also for the people who keep each school running day to day: school business managers, site managers and site teams. They need to get things done quickly and get on with their day. It works just as well for a single school.

Who we are

EduComply is a small, founder-led company, started by Daniel Parker and David Pinfold.

  • Daniel Parker

First-hand experience of school estates, and the problems that led to EduComply.

  • David Pinfold

Software engineering, focused on turning those problems into software that safely lifts the administrative load off estates teams.

That combination is why EduComply is built so closely around school estates, and why we aim to lift as much of the administrative burden off estates teams as software safely can.

EduComply is built and run by Omnicomply Group Ltd.

Where we are today

EduComply is an independent UK software company, and we are still at an early stage. Paying customers use EduComply today, and we work closely with schools and estates teams as we develop it.

Being early means the people who use EduComply help shape what it does next. And when you talk to us, you are talking to the people who build it.
